Identifying Vegetables

Things needed:

White sheet
Sketchpens
Vegetables

Method:

On a white sheet draw the shape of different Vegetables that is available with you.

Ask your small one to identify the vegetable according to the shape and place the vegetable on the shape.

While doing this teach them the vegetable name, their colour and shape. When you are again cooking this vegetable in your Kitchen, show the veggie to your kid and tell them you are cooking it...

Then when you serve the food to them too, remind them of it... It helps them to remember the taste of vegetable and will start identifying their likes and dislikes of taste.

I used to do this exercise with my daughter every time when she was small and would build a story on each vegetable.. and would act as if the vegetable had the best taste in the world...

This exercise make the kids to love all veggies and eat them happily 😍😊

Clean up Harry

This is a fun activity for the toddlers. Harry has been playing in the mud and has become very dirty.. He needs to be cleaned up. Give your young ones the duty of cleaning HarryπŸ˜‰

Things needed:

White sheet
Glass bowl ( with a flat base)
Sketchpens
Cello tape
Tissue

Method:

Draw the picture of Harry and cut it to the size of the glass bowl.

Stick it from inside so that the face is visible as shown in video..

Make some dirty mud marks on him with sketchpens...

Ask your kiddo to wipe him and make him clean with a tissue..

Trust me they start acting very responsible and clean him.. You can also use this activity to tell them how they turn muddy and dirty when they play outside. So they need to become clean after coming home.

Identifying Colours

Kids in the age group 2 to 3 years learn to identify colours. To make this interesting, I have created this activity.

You can also use more number of colours. Instead of wool you can also use satin ribbons.

Things needed:

Bowls ( different colours)
Wool different colours

Method:

Make small pieces of wool. Ask the baby to lift one wool, identify the colour and put it in the same colour bowl.

This method make them easier to learn colours.

Threading Pasta

Things needed:

Pasta (tubular shape)
Spaghetti (u can also use any stick too)
Sponge

Masking tape
Sketchpens

Method:

Age group: 2 to 3 years:

Pierce some spaghetti into the sponge. Teach the kid to thread the pasta into the spaghetti. Do it once so that they can follow.

This helps in building fine motor skills in kids.

Check the video here:

Age group: 3 to 4 years:

For the little older ones, if they are already introduced to the numbers, you can stick a masking tape on the sponge and write the numbers on it.

Then pierce a spaghetti infront of it. Ask the kid to thread the number of pasta as written in the front.

They will learn counting easily with this technique.

Check the video here:

Note: if sponge is unavailable use either a banana, clay dough or a pot with mud too..
