 We did a practical way of learning a plant life cycle... Grow a plant and instill a sense of learning in the kids...This was they learn easily and remember it well.. 

I have used methi plant for this as the seeds are obtained easily...

Learn Colour names

          My daughter has been learning colour names now in both Kannada and English language... So I did decided to make this more fun by imprinting Ladies finger...

Things needed:

Ladies finger

Paints

White sheet

Method:

Write the names of colours in both Kannada and English... 

Ask your kid to dip the ladies finger in paint and print on the paper where the colour is mentioned.

As they paint they learn colour names..🙂🙂

Ideas for parents during this pandemic

This pandemic has caused a lot of stress to the parents as there are no schools and the kids can't be sent outside to play too. I have made some nice Ideas to keep your kid busy. Hope this is going to help people who are finding it difficult to keep their kids entertained.

 Ideas for parents to keep their kids busy during this pandemic:

1. You learn a new hobby and introduce it to them. Sit and explore it together.

2. Enjoy gardening with them. Teach them to grown few plants and explain their importance too.

3. Make them your partner in cooking.

4. Create some new fun activities which is going to help them in their academics too.

5. Ask them to help you in your daily chores. Whether you have a son or a daughter, let them learn to help you.

6. Instill a sense of time management in them. They can complete their Homework and other activities during day time without creating troubles for others and not disturbing their parents too in their work.

7. Have evening times as Family Time to enjoy and play together.

8. Workout together as this will keep you fit too to face all the challenges.

9. Above all explain it to them the current situation properly and how it's affecting you, your job and other people staying around you. Let them learn to be considerate to people around them.

Only you can change the perception of any situation of your kid as positive or negative. Do that. Parenting needs lot of effort. Their is no other choice than putting that effort.

Identifying letters...

     My daughter is learning both Kannada and Hindi starting this academic year. It can be little bit confusing for the kids to identify letters when they are learning new language and that too when two languages are involved..

So to make it little easier, we have been doing a simple activity everyday.

My daughter needs to identify the letters that she has learnt till now and circle those letters. Every day one page.

You can find any magazine or a cutting from a news paper. Once they complete learning many alphabets, u can also ask them to identify swaras or vyanjanas in the page.

This helps kids to keep identifying the alphabets and helps to remain in their mind easily..

Languages become easier the more you come in contact with them...Hence this activity.

I hope it helps many parents out there...

Dressing Up Kuki

 Fun way to teach basic colours to your little ones... They will enjoy changing her dress and also learn colours along with it.. My daughter has named her Kuki

Things needed:

Paper cups - 3

Sketchpens

Marker

Cutter

Scissor

Method:

Draw a cute girl on one papercup .. If you are using big size ones you just need 2 cups...

Cut the dress part and mark the places on second cup. Colour the dresses with different colours...

Place the dress paper cup inside the previous one and enjoy dressing up Kuki...

Skip a Step and Count

 This activity also helps kids to learn skip counting. We tried it a little differently. We live to skip a step when climbing stairs right.. I have used the same method to learn skip counting here.

Things needed:

Cardboard

White sheet

Marker pens

Colour sheets

Glue

Wool

Button

Method:

Stick the white sheet to the cardboard. Cut thin strips of colours and stick them resembling steps.

Write the numbers from 1 to 15 on it.

Thread a button with wool and attach it to the board along with the steps. Draw a girl and attach her to the button.

The girl is ready to climb steps now 🙂

Brush Pen Water Spray Technique

 Happy to share our 100th post... This blog has given me so much happiness...

Things needed:

Brushpens

White plastic sheet

White drawing sheet

Black and Blue markers

Water spray

Method:

Spread some colour on the sheet. Spray water on it and place it on the white sheet.

Drawing any image on top of it as shown in the video.

Skip Counting

 This activity helps kids to learn skip counting. This was an activity which was given in school to my daughter....we enjoyed this activity.. thanks to her teachers for this brilliant idea...

Things needed:

Cardboard

White sheet

Marker pens

Sketchpens

Wool

Bead

Method:

Stick the white sheet to the cardboard. Mark the numbers from 1 to 20 on it.

Thread a bead with wool and attach it to the board.

Write the words very small on a sheet of paper...

List the same words in regular size at the bottom...

Ask your kid to use the magnifying glass and read the words and find the same words in the bottom and circle them...

This activity increases their vocabulary... Same Activity can be done with 3 to 4 year olds with only alphabets...

Potato Tulips

Things needed:

One small potato
White sheet
Paint
Sketchpens

Method:

Cut the potato lengthwise. Mark the tulip shape on the potato and cut it accordingly.

Now dip the potato in the paint and imprint it.

Later draw the stem and leaves with the sketchpens.

Tada.. beautiful art is ready...

Learning Shapes with a Kitchen Roll

Things needed:

Kitchen roll cardboard
White sheet
Turmeric
Water

Method:

Cut the cardboard roll into small pieces. Press them and make them into different shapes as shown in the video.

Now mix water in turmeric and make a liquidy paste. You can also use paints

Dip the shapes in the turmeric and press them on the paper.

You can make different shape mould using just one roll.

Enjoy learning the shapes. Kids will love to imprint the shapes on paper...

Learning Parts of the Face

Things needed:

White sheet - 2

Scissors

Method:

On one sheet draw a circle and mark the parts...

On the second sheet draw eyes, ears, mouth and nose and cut them.

Ask your toddler to place the parts on the face correctly.

This way they will learn parts of the face easily...

Today we again revised a bit of family words in a colourful way...

Method:

Write different family words on the sheet of paper..

Mark each family word with a colour.

Ask your kid to find the right family word and colour them with the assigned colour.

Colourful Spirals

I have drawn four different spirals on the paper with four different colours.

Now draw the same randomly on the whole sheet in different sizes using pencil..

Ask your kid to trace the exact spiral with the exact colour.

Method:

Draw a picture and fill it with dots.

Find the Hidden Sentence

Method:

Choose some simple sentences based on the age of the kid.

Create the boxes for the alphabets to fit in.

Draw pictures that help in guessing the alphabets. Like here I have drawn the pictures that have the first letter to be written in the box.

Let the kids analyze the picture, guess the alphabet and write them in the box. Once they are done they need to read the sentence.

This activity improves their vocabulary.
